Jimmy Raney

Happy Birthday Jimmy Raney 2018!

Hi Folks,

As is becoming customary for me, I’m taking this week off to just chill on the beaches of Florida. So as quick as I can put this one together, just dropping a note to pay homage to the master, Jimmy Raney on his birthday.

Hard to believe he has been gone 23 years but I continue to be heartened by his loyal fanbase  (seemingly growing!) reaching out to me on Facebook, Youtube and on this site,  and almost in equal part recently, my dear brother, who left us over 2 years ago now (even harder to believe).

All I can say is I’m happy to be in the same birthday range as these guys (2 days for me, 9 for Doug) as well as my other idol, Bill Evans. With that I thought I would take a moment to reflect and shared on some of the things I’ve put out there about them  on this site over the years in case any of you missed them.
